1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how HelpfulToolsCompany ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use LoreVault ("Service").

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you register, we collect:

Email address
Account creation date

We do NOT collect: your real name, physical address, phone number, or payment card details (handled by Stripe).

2.2 User Content

When you use the Service, we process and store:

Chat messages you sync from SillyTavern
AI-generated event summaries extracted from your messages
Character names and relationship data
Vector embeddings for semantic search

2.3 Usage Data

We automatically collect API request logs, usage statistics, and error logs for debugging. We do NOT use cookies or third-party analytics trackers.

3. How We Use Your Information

Store and process your chat messages
Generate AI summaries of story events
Provide semantic search for relevant context
Debug errors and improve the service
Send important service announcements

We will NOT:

Sell your personal information
Use your content to train AI models
Share your content with other users
Send marketing emails without consent

4. AI Processing

Your chat messages are processed by AI to extract story events and generate embeddings for semantic search.

We use OpenRouter (Mistral Nemo model) for event extraction and Jina AI for vector embeddings. Your text is sent to these services' APIs for processing.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase cloud database hosted in the United States.

We implement reasonable security measures including encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS), API key authentication, and row-level database security.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

You can delete all your data at any time using the "Delete All My Data" feature in the extension settings. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.

The Service is intended for users in the United States only.

Right to Delete: Use the in-app delete feature or contact us
Right to Non-Discrimination: We won't discriminate for exercising rights
No Sale of Data: We do not sell your personal information

11. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users via email within 72 hours of discovery.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email.
